CVE-2026-64833Network attack vector

Memory disclosure via unchecked DTS core size

Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in FFmpeg 0.7.1 through 8.1.2 allows remote attackers to read past a packet buffer via a crafted DTS-HD stream. The spdif_header_dts4 function trusts a DTS core_size value without verifying that the declared core fits inside the actual packet. A user or automated service must process the attacker-controlled stream during S/PDIF re-muxing, which reads memory outside the packet boundary.
