Root command execution via unsanitized routing parameters
Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026
OS command injection in Wavlink WL-WN530H4 20220721 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via static routes. The set_add_routing handler in /cgi-bin/internet.cgi concatenates POST routing parameters into a shell command with strcat and snprintf, then passes it to popen without sanitization. Administrative access to the web interface is required; injected shell metacharacters run arbitrary commands with root privileges.
