Local code execution via pre-trust Node.js interpreter
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Arbitrary code execution in JetBrains WebStorm before 2026.2 allows local users to execute code through the configured Node.js interpreter. The pre-trust workflow lets that interpreter load project-controlled functionality without first enforcing the project-trust boundary. Exploitation requires local access to an attacker-influenced project opened in WebStorm, and execution inherits the IDE user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
