Memory corruption in HFS in Apple macOS before 14.8.8, 15.7.8, or 26.6 allows local users to crash the system via an app. The HFS component mishandles memory while processing app-controlled input, but Apple has not disclosed the affected function or unsafe operation. Execution of an app on an affected Mac is required; triggering the flaw terminates the operating system or corrupts kernel memory, with no published code-execution impact.
