CVE-2026-64665Network attack vector

Account takeover via unverified OAuth email matching

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Authentication bypass in Statamic CMS before 5.74.1 and 6.0.0 through 6.23.0 allows remote attackers to take over existing accounts. The OAuth Provider::findUser method accepted an email address from any configured provider and used User::findByEmail to bind that identity to a local user without verifying that the provider guaranteed email ownership. OAuth must be explicitly enabled with an untrusted provider; spoofing an existing address grants that account's access, potentially including super-admin control.
