CVE-2026-64640Network attack vector

Authenticated object disclosure via pre-validation metadata read

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Information disclosure in Apache Polaris 1.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read limited object information via registration. The registration path uses catalog storage credentials to fetch a caller-selected Iceberg metadata file before checking its location against the allowed boundary. Reachability requires table- or view-registration privileges, S3 credential vending, and an external object readable by the catalog credentials; no write or service interruption is demonstrated.
