Spurious kernel warning via redundant DMA synchronization
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Improper DMA synchronization in the Linux udmabuf driver allows local users to trigger a spurious warning through a DRM import. map_udmabuf passes zero attributes to dma_map_sgtable after begin_cpu_udmabuf has mapped the same per-page scatter-gather list, so DMA debug flags harmless overlapping cachelines. Reachability requires CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG_SG, an active udmabuf CPU mapping, and a second-device importer such as amdgpu; the reported consequence is a warning, not data corruption or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
