CVE-2026-64570

Kernel compromise via FILS template double-free

Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Double-free in Linux mac80211 FILS template handling allows local users to compromise the kernel through SoftAP configuration. ieee80211_set_fils_discovery() queues the old template for RCU freeing before allocating its replacement, leaving a dangling pointer when kzalloc() fails. CAP_NET_ADMIN in the Wi-Fi network namespace is required; successful exploitation enables kernel memory disclosure, heap corruption, or a panic.
