CVE-2026-64564Public exploit

Root privilege escalation via SCTP transport use-after-free

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux SCTP ASCONF processing allows local users to gain root privileges through crafted protocol operations. sctp_process_asconf_param() lets DEL-IP remove the transport cached in asconf->transport, then a wildcard DEL-IP reuses that dangling pointer as an active path. Exploitation requires SCTP availability and low-privileged local code execution; successful chains can gain host root or escape certain containers.
