Out-of-bounds access via TIME_WAIT lock annotation
Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Linux Kernel 6.12.5 through 6.12.91 and 6.13 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via TCP-AO traffic. tcp_ao_established_key() passes a smaller tcp_timewait_sock to lockdep_sock_is_held(), which accesses the absent sk_lock field beyond that object. Reachability requires IPv4 or IPv6 TCP-AO TIME_WAIT acknowledgment processing, and Linux has not published a concrete security consequence beyond the invalid access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
