CVE-2026-64505

Out-of-bounds read via truncated RNDIS header

Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux Kernel USB RNDIS gadget function allows physically proximate attackers to disclose kernel memory. The rndis_rm_hdr function reads MessageType, MessageLength, DataOffset, and DataLength before confirming that the received buffer contains the full header. Exploitation requires an enabled RNDIS USB gadget and a malformed header from the connected host; the read can disclose adjacent data or interrupt service but does not write kernel memory.
