Unspecified impact via out-of-bounds NUMA node lookup
Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in resctrl monitoring in Linux Kernel allows attackers to cause unspecified impact during CPU offlining. When an SNC monitoring domain's empty cpu_mask is offlined, the limbo handler reads a busy RMID and passes nr_cpu_ids to cpu_to_node(), producing an invalid lookup. The path requires x86 Sub-NUMA Clustering, resctrl LLC occupancy monitoring, a busy RMID, and removal of the domain's last online CPU; no concrete security consequence or attacker privilege is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
