Local denial of service via stale IRQ handler
Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux Kernel Altera PCIe driver allows local users to crash or hang the system after a failed controller probe. altera_pcie_probe leaves a chained IRQ handler and INTx domain registered after devm releases struct altera_pcie, so a later interrupt dereferences stale storage. Exploitation requires a probe failure after interrupts are enabled and a subsequent controller interrupt; the bounded impact is system instability or denial of service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
