CVE-2026-64443

Kernel memory exposure or crash via malformed beacons

Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux Kernel rtl8723bs driver allows physically proximate attackers to expose kernel memory or crash the host. update_beacon_info reads an IE length after checking only the current offset, then passes declared WMM or HT data beyond a truncated Beacon frame. Exposure requires Wi-Fi radio proximity and an associated or IBSS-mode interface using rtl8723bs; bounded effects are adjacent-memory exposure and a kernel oops or panic.
