Remote code execution via unserialized server response
Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026
Embedded malicious code in Essential Plugin Accordion and Accordion Slider 1.4.6 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP. The wpos-analytics module fetches attacker-controlled serialized data, unserializes it, and invokes a remotely chosen function with remotely supplied arguments. An installed, active copy can download a PHP backdoor, append persistent code to wp-config.php, and serve attacker-directed spam without authentication.
