CVE-2026-64407

Kernel memory disclosure via unchecked firmware bounds

Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux Kernel btnxpuart driver allows physically proximate attackers to disclose kernel memory through an NXP controller. nxp_recv_fw_req_v3() subtracts a correction from the controller-supplied offset and passes that pointer and length to serdev_device_write_buf() without checking the resulting end against the firmware image size. Exploitation requires control of an attached NXP UART Bluetooth controller during v3 firmware download, and the exposed bytes are returned only to that controller.
