CVE-2026-64312Network attack vector

System crash via stale pcrypt completion callback

Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026

Callback mishandling in Linux Kernel pcrypt allows remote attackers to crash the kernel via unauthenticated ESP traffic. When padata_do_parallel() returns -EBUSY, pcrypt calls the child AEAD directly without restoring its original callback and callback data. Network-facing IPsec use and a PADATA_RESET window make the path reachable; asynchronous completion then dereferences a null padata pointer, causing a kernel oops or panic.
