Arbitrary code execution via unchecked packet index
Published Jul 25, 2026 · Updated Jul 25, 2026
Heap out-of-bounds write in the touchwin driver in affected Linux Kernel releases allows physically proximate attackers to execute code. In tw_interrupt(), the driver increments a running index into the three-byte tw->data array but resets it only when two device-controlled Y bytes match. A malicious, malfunctioning, or counterfeit serial Touchwindow peripheral can keep those bytes unequal, driving attacker-chosen writes past the buffer and enabling kernel-context code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
