CVE-2026-64240

Local service interruption via misreferenced USB setup packet

Published Jul 24, 2026 · Updated Jul 24, 2026

Type confusion in the Linux Kernel igorplugusb driver allows local users to interrupt service through a malformed USB control request. The driver passes the address of its request-pointer field to usb_fill_control_urb, causing USB core to interpret pointer bytes as a usb_ctrlrequest. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to a system using the igorplugusb driver, and the reported consequence is limited to availability.
