CVE-2026-64178

Kernel memory disclosure via BNEP teardown race

Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel BNEP subsystem allows physically proximate attackers to disclose kernel memory or crash the host during PAN setup. bnep_add_connection() copies dev->name after releasing bnep_session_sem, allowing bnep_session() to free the net_device concurrently during connection teardown. Exposure requires Bluetooth PAN bridging and a tight teardown race while a privileged local component issues BNEPCONNADD.
