Stored XSS via unsafe preview HTML construction
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Justin Kruit Advanced Custom Fields: Font Awesome Field 5.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The update_preview() JavaScript function accepts insufficiently validated JSON field values and constructs client-side HTML without safely neutralizing attacker-controlled content. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in a visitor's browser whenever an injected page is opened.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
