CVE-2026-64088

Adjacent kernel memory corruption via signed length wrap

Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026

Integer wraparound in Linux Kernel batman-adv code allows adjacent attackers to disclose or corrupt kernel memory through mesh traffic. A value above 32767 wraps batadv_orig_node::tt_buff_len negative and sign-extends in batadv_send_other_tt_response(), leaving allocated response data uninitialized and permitting an oversized memory copy. Exploitation requires an active batman-adv Layer 2 mesh; crafted control packets can expose residual data, corrupt heap memory, or panic the node.
