Kernel-stack disclosure via failed user copies
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Information disclosure and register corruption in Linux Kernel 5.19 through 7.0.10 allow local users to expose kernel stack data. RISC-V compat_riscv_gpr_set() and compat_restore_sigcontext() copy an uninitialized cregs stack object into pt_regs after a user-copy failure. Reachability requires a RISC-V compatibility path and a failed user copy; the result is task-register corruption and kernel-stack disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
