Use-after-free via unsynchronized fprobe teardown
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 6.14 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact by unregistering and immediately releasing an fprobe. unregister_fprobe() removes an fprobe from an RCU-protected hash list but returns without waiting for an RCU grace period, allowing another CPU to retain a stale reference. Reachability is limited to fprobe event and sample-module paths that free an fprobe immediately after unregistration; the BPF kprobe-multi path is unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
