CVE-2026-64047Network attack vector

Kernel memory corruption via misplaced scatterlist chain

Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026

Off-by-one error in Linux Kernel kTLS transmit processing allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory through crafted traffic. The tls_push_record() function passes sg_chain() a count that puts the chain marker in data[MAX_SKB_FRAGS] instead of the reserved final entry when the sk_msg ring wraps. Reachability requires an established kTLS connection and a service-configured BPF sockmap; out-of-bounds reads or writes can crash the kernel or enable control-flow hijacking.
