Memory leak via omitted software-node cleanup
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Resource leak in the GPIO Aggregator in Linux Kernel allows local users to consume kernel memory by deactivating configfs devices. The gpio_aggregator_deactivate() path frees the platform device and lookup allocations but omits fwnode_remove_software_node() for the dynamically created node. The leak requires local write access to the GPIO Aggregator configfs interface and repeated activation and deactivation, causing cumulative unreclaimed kernel memory without a published crash demonstration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
