Kernel privilege escalation via dangling GEM handle
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 6.18 through 6.18.34 and 6.19 through 7.0.11 allows local users to gain kernel privileges or crash the system. rocket_ioctl_create_bo() creates a GEM handle before fallible allocation, address-space insertion, and IOMMU mapping, then frees the object without removing the handle if one fails. Access to an RK3588 Rocket accelerator device node is required; later PREP_BO, FINI_BO, or SUBMIT lookups dereference freed kernel memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
