Stack disclosure via misdirected I2C read
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Information disclosure in the Linux Kernel ITG3200 IIO driver allows local users to read uninitialized stack data via triggered scans. itg3200_read_all_channels passes &buf rather than buf to i2c_transfer, leaving the caller's scan buffer uninitialized before it is queued to /dev/iio:deviceX. Exposure requires an ITG3200 device using the triggered-buffer path; non-buffered raw reads are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
