Kernel code execution via post-giveback URB dereference
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux Kernel DWC2 host controller allows local users to execute kernel code through USB URB cancellation. In drivers/usb/dwc2/hcd.c, the dequeue path calls usb_hcd_giveback_urb() and then logs urb->status after giveback can free the URB. Reachability requires DWC2 hardware, enabled debug logging, and USB-device-node access; concurrent cancellation can corrupt kernel memory, panic or hang the host, or execute kernel code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
