Local privilege escalation via shallow-cloned IPTFS state
Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux Kernel 6.14 through 6.18.34 and 6.19 through 7.0.11 allows local users to escalate privileges. iptfs_clone_state() shallow-copies queues, timers, a spinlock, and in-flight state, letting failed-clone cleanup free socket buffers still owned by the original SA. Reachability requires IPTFS, XFRM_MIGRATE, CAP_NET_ADMIN in the target network namespace, queued packets, and a forced post-clone failure; exploitation enables kernel memory reads or writes or a host panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
