CVE-2026-63861

Unspecified impact via missing ECC teardown

Published Jul 19, 2026 · Updated Jul 19, 2026

Resource cleanup error in affected Linux Kernel releases allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via device removal. The mtk_snand_probe() path in drivers/spi/spi-mtk-snfi.c registers the on-host NAND ECC engine but omits unregistration during probe unwind and remove-time cleanup. Reachability requires affected MediaTek SPI NAND hardware plus a probe failure or device removal; the published record does not identify a resulting security consequence.
