Restricted-field disclosure via unfiltered graph traversal
Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026
Incorrect authorization in SurrealDB 3.1.0 through 3.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted fields via graph traversals. The shared resolve_record_batch helper for GraphEdgeScan and ReferenceScan materializes raw records after table-level checks without applying field-level SELECT filters. Table-level SELECT access is required, and disclosure is limited to hidden fields in otherwise readable records; row, table, namespace, and database boundaries remain enforced.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.1.0 <3.1.5

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
