Privilege escalation via unchecked role-membership additions
Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Privilege escalation in Anchore Enterprise 5.11.0 through 5.27.1 and 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain write access. The RBAC role-member add endpoint omits the per-account authorization checks enforced by the corresponding delete endpoint, allowing unauthorized role assignments. Read-only users can assign account-scoped roles to themselves or others, but cannot grant the system-admin role.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
