CVE-2026-63693

Arbitrary write via improper link resolution

Published Aug 24, 2026 · Updated Aug 24, 2026

Improper link resolution in Dell Client BIOS on 17 PC models allows local users with low privileges to write arbitrary data. Dell identifies link following before file access as the faulty operation but does not disclose the affected BIOS routine, path handling, or attacker-controlled link source. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and user interaction; successful use can alter data and disrupt availability, with no disclosed confidentiality impact.
