CVE-2026-6369

Root-level token disclosure via unauthenticated Unix socket

Published Apr 20, 2026 · Updated Apr 20, 2026

Improper access control in Canonical Livepatch Client before 10.15.0 allows local users to obtain a root-level authentication token. The livepatchd.sock Unix domain socket accepts an unauthenticated request from an unprivileged local account and returns the sensitive token. The flaw is reachable only after an administrator enables the client with a valid Ubuntu Pro subscription; the token grants access to Livepatch services under the victim's credentials.
