Cross-site scripting via incomplete URL sanitization
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Nuxt MDC before 0.22.1 allows remote attackers to execute script through rendered untrusted Markdown. The parse-time sanitizer checks only href or src and compares data:text/html denylist entries with the shorter data: protocol, leaving SVG xlink:href JavaScript and iframe data URLs intact. Default parsing enables raw HTML; the SVG path requires a victim click and runs in the page origin, while the iframe path executes on load in an opaque origin.
