Unauthenticated credential disclosure via incomplete config redaction
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Information disclosure in OpenObserve 0.90.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read deployment secrets via /config/runtime. The unauthenticated handler serializes the full server configuration, while hide_sensitive_fields fails to redact names containing dsn or creds. Network access to the HTTP port is sufficient; PostgreSQL deployments expose database connection strings, while other deployments disclose administrator and infrastructure details.
