DQL injection via unvalidated regexp filter arguments

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

DQL injection in Dgraph Labs' Dgraph before 25.3.8 allows remote attackers to disclose nodes or expand mutation targets via crafted GraphQL filters. The maybeQuoteArg function in graphql/resolve/query_rewriter.go writes regexp filter strings verbatim into generated DQL without validating a single /pattern/flags literal. Query exploitation requires a regexp- or trigram-indexed String field and needs no authentication; mutations require user-level authentication and can broaden modification or deletion scope.
