CVE-2026-63635Public exploit

Application crash via unchecked PSD color mode

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in affected OpenImageIO releases allows attackers to crash applications through a crafted PSD file with raw color handling enabled. PSDInput::validate_header() returns early for oiio:RawColor or psd:RawData before rejecting invalid color_mode values, and PSDInput::setup() uses that value to index fixed mode tables. Exploitation requires an application or user to open the file through the nondefault raw-color path; the resulting read can drive bogus allocation and abort the process.
