Unauthenticated SMS command execution via retry-counter disablement
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Authentication bypass in Weidmüller IE-SR-2TX-WL-4G firmware 1.67 through 1.73 allows remote attackers to execute SMS commands. After five consecutive invalid SMS passwords, the retry counter disables password authorization instead of continuing to reject commands. The SMS receiver must be enabled and reachable through cellular messaging; unauthenticated commands can alter limited settings, disclose limited data, or interrupt the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
