Root command execution via Basic Auth username injection
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
OS command injection in Weidmüller IE-SR-2TX-WL-series firmware allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root. The modified uhttpd CGI path inserts the unsanitized HTTP Basic Authentication username into a shell command string passed to system(). Affected firmware starts at 1.52 and ends before 1.57 on IE-SR-2TX-WL, and starts at 1.67 and ends before 1.74 on both 4G models; network access is the only gate.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
