Content decryption via CMS RSA padding oracle
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
CMS RSA key-transport padding oracle in Bouncy Castle C# .NET before 2.7.0 allows remote attackers to decrypt captured CMS content. KeyTransRecipientInformation.UnwrapKey rejects invalid PKCS#1 v1.5 padding with a distinct error instead of substituting a random content key, exposing a padding oracle. Exploitation requires a captured CMS message and repeated modified-message submissions to an application that decrypts with the recipient's private key and reveals distinguishable failures.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
