CVE-2026-63572Network attack vectorHinoki check available

CPU exhaustion via unbounded PKCS#12 iterations

Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026

PKCS#12 parsing in Bouncy Castle C# .NET before 2.7.0 allows attackers to stall a loading thread via a crafted PFX file. Pkcs12Store.Load accepts iteration counts from MacData or encrypted bags without an upper bound and derives keys before integrity or password checks can fail. Applications must load an untrusted file to be exposed; a small file can occupy a worker thread for minutes, and repeated files can exhaust available workers.
