Image disclosure via uncleared print cache
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Incomplete cleanup in Sharp and Toshiba Tec MFPs allows physically proximate attackers to access image data cached during printing. The print workflow retains cached image files after a job completes instead of deleting them, exposing residual content to subsequent device users. Physical access to the MFP is required; on affected Sharp models, a crafted PDF supplied through USB direct printing can cause another stored file to print.
