Server crash via unchecked command slicing
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Denial of service in Contributed Systems Faktory before 1.10.0 allows remote attackers to crash the server with malformed commands. The queue, pushBulk, push, ack, fail, and heartbeat handlers slice or index bare command lines without verifying that a payload exists. A connection to port 7419 and the HELLO handshake reach the flaw; no credentials are needed when no password is configured, and the uncaught panic terminates all client and worker connections.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
