Authenticated browser script execution via unencoded action parameter
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Reflected XSS in LimeSurvey 7.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted activation URL. The user activation confirmation endpoint copies the action query parameter into a hidden input value without HTML attribute encoding, so crafted markup escapes the attribute. Exploitation requires an authenticated workflow and active interaction with the crafted URL; successful script runs in the LimeSurvey origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
