Browser-script execution via unsanitized CSV trace signal names
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
XSS in Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 Trace pages allows remote attackers to execute browser JavaScript via crafted CSV trace files. Selection menus render attacker-controlled signal names from imported files without proper sanitization. Exploitation requires an authorized user with Read diagnostics rights to import the file and interact with a menu; execution occurs in that user's browser session, not directly on the controller.
