Arbitrary code execution via unsafe faker expression evaluation
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Code injection in Redocly CLI before 2.33.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted Arazzo description. The respect context parser dynamically evaluates $faker expressions and permits constructor, prototype, or proto traversal to reach the JavaScript Function constructor. Exploitation requires a user or CI job to run respect on untrusted content, after which code executes with the CLI process privileges and can run shell commands or read secrets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
