CVE-2026-63299Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Project storage-limit bypass via unchecked volume operations

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

Authorization bypass in Canonical LXD before 5.0.8, 5.21.6, or 6.10 allows remote authenticated users to exceed project storage limits. The storagePoolVolumeTypePostMove path omits limits.AllowVolumeCreation before a cross-project move, while snapshot restore skips AllowVolumeUpdate when Config is nil. Low-privileged project access and configured disk or volume limits are required; successful operations consume storage beyond the target project quota and can exhaust shared capacity.
