Host-root code execution via newline directive injection

Configuration injection in affected Canonical LXD releases allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code as host root. The nvidia.driver.capabilities validator accepts newline-bearing input, which is formatted without escaping into generated lxc.conf content as a new lxc.hook.pre-start directive. Instance-configuration permission is required, and execution occurs when LXC parses the generated configuration during container startup.
